Our Story
Otoko was created with a pretty simple idea — to build a barbershop that people genuinely enjoy being part of.
A place where great haircuts matter, but so does the atmosphere. Somewhere clients can switch off, have a laugh and feel at home, and where barbers are given the freedom to enjoy their work and build something for themselves.
What started small has grown naturally into a team of friends, each with their own personality, style and way of doing things.
We take what we do seriously, without taking ourselves too seriously.

Brandon - Founder
Brandon started Otoko with the aim of creating the kind of barbershop he’d always wanted to work in.Super chilled by nature, he’s happiest seeing a busy shop, good people around him and a team of barbers who genuinely enjoy coming to work.
For Brandon, Otoko has never just been about cutting hair. It’s about creating a space that feels good for the people who work here and the people who walk through the door.

Matt - The OG
Part of the original Otoko team from day one, Matt is a huge part of what makes the shop what it is.He takes real pride in looking after his clients and making people feel comfortable in his chair. A brilliant dad, a great barber and, quite simply, an all-round good bloke.

Hugo - The OG
Another member of the day-one crew, Hugo brings a seriously easy-going energy to the shop.A sports fanatic, great with people and always the first to lend a hand when someone needs it. He’s the kind of person every team needs — dependable, relaxed and always up for a laugh.

Sam - The Creative
Sam is one of those people who seems to have a new hobby every time you speak to him.Creative, talented and genuinely kind-hearted, he brings his own personality and style to everything he does — including his barbering.
You’ll also regularly find him alongside his partner in crime, Whinny.

Alex - The Perfectionist
Alex is all about the finer details.Thoughtful, precise and another great friend to have around the shop, he brings a calm approach to his work and takes a lot of pride in getting things just right.
And when he’s not behind the chair, there’s a good chance he’s making something equally impressive through his pizza company, Dough Club.
